ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

First-person (video games)

When we play a video game, we can see the world and the characters in it through different "perspectives" or points of view. In some video games, we can see everything from a bird's-eye view or from far away, and in other games, we can see everything from the eyes of the main character.

When we see the world through the eyes of the main character, that is called "first-person perspective." It means that we can only see what the main character would see if they were real.

Imagine you are playing a game where you are a soldier on a mission. When you see the world in first-person perspective, you can only see what the soldier would see if they were really there. You can see the gun in your hands, the enemy soldiers coming towards you, and everything else that the soldier can see.

First-person perspective games can be really immersive and make you feel like you are really in the game. It's like you are the main character and everything you see is happening to you.
