Flattery

Hey kiddo, do you know what flattery means? Flattery is when someone says nice things to you, usually to make you feel good about yourself or to get something from you.

Let's say you draw a really pretty picture for your mom and she says, "Wow, this is the best picture I've ever seen! You're such a talented artist!" She's trying to make you feel good about yourself and your art.

Sometimes, people use flattery to get something they want. For example, if someone wants you to share your toy with them, they might say, "Wow, you have the coolest toy ever! I wish I had one like that." They're hoping that by making you feel good about your toy, you'll be more likely to share it with them.

It's important to remember that not all flattery is genuine. Some people may say nice things that they don't really mean just to get something from you. So it's always good to be cautious and trust your instincts when someone is showering you with compliments.
