Flophouse

A flophouse is like a big house with lots of small rooms or beds where people can stay for a short time. It is usually not very clean or fancy, but it is a place where people who don't have a lot of money can sleep for the night. It's kind of like a big sleepover with people you don't know very well. Some flophouses also have showers and bathrooms so you can clean up before you go to bed. Flophouses are not always very safe or comfortable, but they can be a place to stay when you really need it.
