Flynn's taxonomy

Flynn's Taxonomy is a way of understanding how people learn. It was developed by James Flynn, an American psychologist. Flynn’s Taxonomy has three main categories: remembering, understanding and applying.

Remembering involves being able to remember facts or pieces of information. It is the base level of learning, where someone is able to recall what they learned.

Understanding involves being able to interpret and explain what someone has learned. It is a higher level of learning than remembering, where someone is able to connect the facts and put them together to make sense of them.

Applying involves using the knowledge that someone has learned in order to solve a problem or situation. It is the highest level of learning, where someone is able to take the knowledge they’ve acquired and use it to solve a problem.
