A foley catheter is a special tube that helps someone pee when they can't pee by themselves. It goes into the person's pee hole and into their bladder to let the pee out. It's kind of like a straw but it's really skinny and soft so it doesn't hurt when it goes in. The pee goes through the tube and into a bag that's attached to the other end of the tube. This bag collects all the pee so the person doesn't have to go to the bathroom as often. Sometimes doctors use foley catheters when people are in the hospital and can't move around a lot, or if they're having surgery and can't get up to pee. It's important to keep the tube and bag clean so that germs don't get in and make the person sick.
