Foreclosure consultants are people who help people who are in danger of losing their homes because of not being able to pay their mortgage. The consultant helps the homeowner understand the situation, come up with a plan to prevent foreclosure (like a loan modification or a repayment plan), and negotiate with the lender or bank. The consultant also helps the homeowner understand their rights and responsibilities and give them guidance on what to do if the foreclosure cannot be prevented.
