ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Foreign policy

Foreign policy is how a country acts and makes decisions towards other countries and international organizations. It's like deciding how your country should act when you meet someone new: should you be friendly, or maybe be more cautious? When it comes to foreign policy, countries decide what kind of relationship they want to have with other countries, and how they should handle difficult issues like trade, security, and human rights. It involves a lot of negotiation and compromise, because all countries have to work together to make sure everyone's interests are taken into account.
