Four arts

The four arts, also known as the "quadrivium," are four areas of learning that people in the past thought were very important to know.

The first art is "arithmetic." This is all about numbers, counting, and using math to solve problems. You use arithmetic when you count how many cookies you have left or when you try to figure out how much money you need to buy something you want.

The second art is "geometry." This is all about shapes, angles, and patterns. You use geometry when you draw pictures, build things, or figure out how to fit all your toys into a small box.

The third art is "music." This is all about creating and listening to sounds that are pleasing to the ears. You use music when you sing songs, play instruments, or listen to your favorite tunes.

The fourth art is "astronomy." This is all about the stars, planets, and other things in space. You use astronomy when you look up at the night sky and try to identify constellations or when you learn about the planets in our Solar System.

All four of these arts were considered very important for people to learn because they helped people understand the world around them, solve problems, and create beautiful things.
