The Frankfurt School was a group of scholars at the Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt, Germany in the early 1900s. They wanted to understand why people are unhappy and why some groups in society seem to be worse off than others. They studied social problems, such as poverty, prejudice, and political oppression, and tried to figure out how to fix them. They said that we need to create a new way of thinking about how society works, and come up with new ideas to make it work better. They wrote a lot of books and studies that have become very important to social science and philosophy.
