ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Freediving

Freediving is like swimming underwater, but instead of using scuba gear (big metal tanks that give you air), you hold your breath and try to dive as deep or stay underwater as long as you can.

Before you start, you need to learn how to hold your breath properly and how to relax your body so you can go down deeper without using up all your air. Then, you can practice diving down to different depths, like touching the bottom of a pool or diving with dolphins in the ocean!

It's important to always have a buddy with you when freediving, just in case anything goes wrong. Plus, it's more fun to have someone to swim with and explore underwater!

Freediving can be really exciting and cool, but it's also important to be safe and not push yourself too hard. Remember to always take breaks, listen to your body, and never dive deeper or hold your breath longer than you're comfortable with.
