Freeters

Freeters are people in Japan who are young and not in full-time employment. They often work part-time jobs or temporary jobs, instead of having one stable job.

Imagine a big box of crayons – there are lots of different colors, right? Well, some people in Japan choose to use all the different crayons in the box instead of just one. These people are called freeters.

Let's say you're a freeter – you might work at a restaurant one day, and then at a movie theater the next day. You might not have a lot of money, but you have a lot of different experiences.

Some people in Japan choose to be freeters because they want to have more free time to do things they enjoy, like hobbies or traveling. Other people become freeters because they can't find a full-time job right away. Regardless of the reason, being a freeter is a choice some people make in Japan.
