Friendly amendment

Imagine you and your friend are playing a game and you have a rule that says you can only move forward if you roll a certain number on a dice. Your friend says they want to add a new rule that says if you roll a certain other number, you get to move two steps forward instead of just one. This is called a "friendly amendment." It's like your friend is suggesting a new idea for the game, but they're suggesting it in a nice way so that you both can still have fun playing together. If you agree to the new rule, you can add it to the game and keep playing.
