ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Full genome sequencing

Full genome sequencing is like taking a picture of an entire person from top to bottom. A scientist will take a sample of your DNA and look at all of the letters that make up your entire genetic code. This code is like a picture of how you are built, so knowing this helps us understand why some people look or act differently. It also helps us look for diseases that can be passed down from family members, so we can be better prepared for them.
