ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fundamental interaction

Fundamental interaction is another name for the forces that work between particles. We use the same word, interaction, when we're talking about forces that work between people, but in science, we're talking about forces between tiny things like atoms and particles. There are four fundamental forces of nature: gravity, the electromagnetic force, the weak nuclear force, and the strong nuclear force. Each of these forces have different effects on different particles. For example, gravity pulls things towards the ground, the electromagnetic force makes magnets stick to things, and the strong and weak nuclear forces hold particles together inside atoms.
