So let's say your parents just moved into a new house, and it's just an empty space with walls and floors. The house doesn’t look too nice without any furniture or decorations. So, your parents need to furnish it, which means they need to fill it with things that make it look nice, cozy, and comfortable.

First, they will decide which room needs what type of furniture. They may put a bed, dresser, and nightstand in the bedroom. In the living room, they may have chairs, a sofa, coffee table, and TV. In the dining room, they may have a table and chairs for eating meals.

Once they figure out what type of furniture they need, they will go to a store to buy it. They will choose the furniture they like and buy it. Then, they will bring it home and assemble it.
