ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gaelic handball

Okay kiddo, so Gaelic handball is a really cool game that people play in Ireland. It's kind of like regular handball, but with a few differences.

First, instead of just hitting the ball against a wall with your hand, you play on a special court that has four walls. You hit the ball against the front wall, and the other player has to hit it back before it bounces twice on the ground.

Second, you can use different parts of your hand to hit the ball - not just your palm like in regular handball. You can use your fist, your knuckles, or even the side of your hand.

There are a bunch of different ways to score points, depending on where the ball lands and what happens next. For example, if you hit the ball so hard that it bounces twice before your opponent can hit it, you get a point. Or if your opponent misses the ball entirely, you get a point.

Gaelic handball is really fun to watch because the players are so skilled at hitting the ball in just the right way to make it bounce in weird directions. It takes a lot of practice to get really good at it, but anyone can try it out and have fun!
