Gas turbine train

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a train with a big smoke stack on top? That's a traditional steam train, and it uses water heated by coal to create steam and move the train forward.

But, some trains don't use steam at all! Instead, they use something called a gas turbine.

Think of a gas turbine like a special kind of engine that uses air and fuel to make power. The air gets sucked in and mixed with fuel, then ignited by a spark to create a very hot gas. That gas shoots out the back of the train and pushes it along, just like steam from a traditional train.

Gas turbine trains are different because they don't need to carry as much water or coal as steam trains, so they can be lighter and faster. Plus, they create less air pollution since they don't burn coal.

Gas turbine trains aren't as common as steam or diesel trains, but they can still be found in some places around the world.
