Gender systems

Gender systems are the different ways people can be classified as male, female, or another gender. In some cultures, people might use words like 'man' or 'woman' to talk about gender. But in other cultures, there are more specific words or ways to describe different gender identities. For example, someone might be a 'girl' or a 'boy', or they might not identify with either of those categories and use a different word, like 'non-binary' or 'genderfluid'.
