Gender and Sexual Diversity

Gender and sexual diversity refers to the fact that people can be different in terms of their gender identity and who they are attracted to.

Gender identity is about how someone feels inside about being a boy or a girl, or neither or both. Some people feel like they were born the wrong gender and may transition to become the gender they feel is right for them. Some people feel like they are both or neither gender, and this is called nonbinary or genderqueer.

Who someone is attracted to is called their sexual orientation. Some people are attracted to people of the opposite gender (heterosexual), some are attracted to people of the same gender (homosexual), and some are attracted to people of all genders (pansexual or bisexual). Some people don't feel any attraction to others (asexual).

It's important to respect everyone's gender identity and sexual orientation, even if it's different from your own. Everyone deserves to be accepted for who they are.
