ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gene structure

Gene structure is like a recipe. Every living thing (including us!) has genes, and the genes are like special recipes that tell our bodies how to do everything. A gene is like a tiny bit of a recipe, and it tells our body how to do one thing. For example, one gene might tell our eyes to be blue, another might tell our hair to be curly, and another might tell our nose to be small. All of our genes together make up instructions on how to make us.
