Generation expansion planning

Generation expansion planning is a way of making sure that an electricity company – like a power plant – has enough energy to meet customer needs. Basically, it means the company looks at how much energy people will be using in the future, and then plans ahead to make sure it has enough resources to meet that demand. This might mean building new power plants or adding more equipment to the existing plants. All of this planning is important for keeping the lights on for everyone.
