Genetic architecture is a way of understanding how different types of genes work together to create a certain trait in an organism. The “genes” are instructions inside of the cells that tell the body what to do. Different instructions can do different things - they can change the color of your eyes, the shape of your nose, and even how smart you are. All of these physical features and abilities are made up of many different genes working together. This is called genetic architecture. Understanding genetic architecture helps scientists to understand why different people have different traits.
