ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Georg Jellinek

Georg Jellinek was a very smart man who studied laws and government. He was born a long time ago in Austria when people still used horses instead of cars. He liked thinking about how laws and rules can help people live together in a happy way.

He wrote many books about laws and government that even other smart people had a hard time understanding. But here’s what you need to know: Jellinek believed that a good government should always put its people first. He said that just like we have rules in a game, there should be rules in a country to make sure everyone gets treated fairly.

Jellinek also said that we all have rights, like the right to speak our mind or to vote for our leaders. These rights should be protected by the government.

Even though Jellinek is not alive anymore, people still read his books and learn from his ideas about how to make governments better for everyone.
