Glyoxalase system

The glyoxalase system helps our bodies break down a molecule called "glyoxal". Glyoxal is a waste product from making energy from certain foods. Without the glyoxalase system, our bodies wouldn't be able to get rid of glyoxal. The glyoxalase system helps us do this by using a special enzyme called glyoxalase. This enzyme works like a mini factory, taking glyoxal in and turning it into something that can be used or thrown away. Our bodies need the glyoxalase system to help keep us healthy and keep us from getting sick.
