ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

GoTo (telescopes)

Okay kiddo, so you know how you can use binoculars to see things far away, like birds or planes in the sky? A telescope is similar, but even bigger and more powerful.

Now imagine you have your telescope set up and you're looking at a planet or star. But what if you want to look at something else that's in a completely different part of the sky? You could try manually moving the telescope to point in the new direction, but that's hard to do and you might lose sight of what you were originally looking at.

That's where "goto" comes in. It's a special feature on some telescopes that uses a computer and motors to automatically point the telescope in a certain direction. You can enter the name of a planet, star, or other astronomical object and the telescope will move on its own to get to that spot in the sky.

It's like having a robot helper who can move the telescope for you! It makes it easier to find what you're looking for, and you don't have to worry about losing sight of it. So with goto, you can explore the stars and planets in the sky more easily and have more fun looking at the wonders of the universe!
