Goat tying

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a rodeo before? Yeah, where cowboys and cowgirls ride horses and do lots of cool tricks. Well, one event at a rodeo is called goat tying.

So, goat tying is where a cowgirl rides a horse really fast and then jumps off her horse onto the ground. Then, she runs over to a goat that's tied up and lying on the ground. The cowgirl has to grab the goat by its legs and tie them together with a rope called a "piggin' string" as fast as she can.

Why do they do this? Well, back in the old days, cowboys and cowgirls had to tie up goats and other animals to brand them or give them medicine. So goat tying was a way to practice that skill and see who could do it the fastest.

Now, at a rodeo, the cowgirl who ties up the goat the fastest wins! It's a really exciting event and lots of people love to watch it.
