God bless you

"God bless you" is a phrase we say when someone sneezes.

Sneezing is when air comes out of our nose and mouth really quickly, usually because there's something irritating or tickling our nose.

When people used to sneeze, some people believed that it meant evil spirits were leaving their body and they would say "God bless you" to protect them from those spirits.

Nowadays, people say "god bless you" as a way of saying they hope you stay healthy and happy. It's just a kind thing to say when someone sneezes!
