ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gold–silver–bronze command structure

Okay kiddo, imagine you are playing a game with your friends and there's a big job to do. You are the boss and you need to make sure everyone knows what to do and who is in charge.

Now, let's say you have three friends who are really good at the game and you trust them to help you. You want to let them know their jobs and who they should listen to.

So, you decide to give them each a medal - one gold, one silver, and one bronze.

The person with the gold medal is in charge of everything. They are like the king or queen of the game. They make the final decisions and everyone listens to them.

The person with the silver medal is in charge if the gold medal person isn't there or if they need help. They are like the prince or princess of the game.

The person with the bronze medal is in charge if both the gold and silver medal people aren't there or if they need help. They are like the knight or knightess of the game.

This way, everyone knows who to listen to and who is in charge. It makes it easier for everyone to work together and get the job done!
