ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Golf license

Okay kiddo, so a golf license is kind of like a permission slip to play golf. It shows that you know the rules of the game and that you're allowed to play on certain golf courses. Just like how you need a permission slip from your teacher to go on a field trip, you need a golf license to play on certain courses.

To get a golf license, you need to take a test to show that you know the rules of the game. The test might ask questions like "What's the penalty for hitting the ball out of bounds?" or "What's the distance between the tee and the green on a par 3 hole?"

Once you pass the test, you get your golf license! It might come in the form of a card or a certificate. Then you can show it to the people who run the golf courses and they'll let you play there.

But remember, just like how you need to follow the rules at school, you also need to follow the rules of golf when you're playing. So no cheating, no throwing tantrums, and always be polite to the other players on the course. Happy golfing!
