Gotcha journalism

Gotcha journalism is when a reporter tries to set up certain people (often politicians) to make them look stupid or bad. The reporter tries to get the person to say or do something they don't want to, so the reporter can capture it on camera or in an audio recording and write a news story about it. It's kind of like playing a game of "gotcha," where you try to catch someone doing or saying something they don't want you to.
