ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Governance

Governance is like rules and decisions made by grown-ups to make sure everyone plays by the same rules and nobody gets hurt or left out. Just like how your family has rules about what time you go to bed or how much candy you can eat, governance is about making rules and decisions for a whole group of people, like a school or a country, to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Governance helps us decide who is in charge of making decisions, like grown-ups who are responsible for keeping everyone safe and happy. There are different kinds of governance, like a democracy, where people vote to choose who is in charge, or a monarchy, where one person is chosen to be in charge.

Governance also helps us decide how to spend money, like how your parents might decide to spend their money on food and clothes for the family. People who make decisions about money in governance might want to use it to build new schools or hospitals or to help people who don't have a lot of money.

Overall, governance is about making decisions that work for everyone and making sure everyone is treated fairly and has a chance to succeed.
