Government budget

A government budget is like a grocery list for the government. Just like when you go grocery shopping and make a list of items that you need to buy, the government creates a budget of items they need to pay for to help run the country. On this grocery list are things like how much money the government should spend on things like schools, hospitals, roads and bridges, and help for people in need. Creating the budget helps the government be organized and know how to best spend the money to help the most people.
