Government by the People Act

So, you know how we live in a country where grown-ups make rules and decisions about things like schools, roads, and money? Well, sometimes people don't think these grown-ups are doing a good job of making fair rules that help everyone, and they want to have a say in how things are run.

The government by the people act is a law that was created to help regular people have a bigger say in how our country is run. It makes it easier for people to vote in elections, even if they don't have a lot of money or don't speak English very well.

The law also tries to make sure that everyone's vote counts the same amount, so that one person can't have more power over the decisions than another person. It's like if we were trying to decide what to eat for dinner and we wanted to make sure everyone got to vote on what they wanted to eat, even if they were little and didn't talk as well as the big people.

So, the government by the people act helps us work together as a big group to make decisions that are fair and equal for everyone.
