Grain

Grains are tiny seeds that come from plants such as wheat, rice, oats, and corn. They are one of the most important sources of food in the world and they provide carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals that give us energy to grow and play.

Grains are usually harvested from fields where the plants have grown tall and strong, then they are separated from the stalks or plants they grew on. If you look closely at a grain, you will see that it has three parts: the endosperm, the germ, and the bran.

The endosperm is the biggest part of the grain and it contains most of the carbohydrates that give us energy. The germ is the smallest part of the grain and it contains vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. The bran is the outer layer of the grain and it is rich in fiber that helps our digestive system work properly.

We can eat grains in many different ways, such as bread, pasta, cereals, or rice. When we eat grains, we are filling our bodies with healthy nutrients that help us grow and stay strong. However, not all grains are the same, some may be processed and lose nutrients, so it is important to choose whole grains that contain all three parts of the grain: endosperm, germ, and bran.
