Granite

Granite is a type of rock! It's super strong and hard, which means it won't easily break or scratch. Think of it like a big cookie - it's made up of different ingredients, but instead of flour and sugar, granite is made up of things called minerals.

Granite is formed deep underground, where it's really hot and there's a lot of pressure. Over time, the minerals inside the rock cool and harden, forming granite. It can come in many different colors, like pink, black, gray, and white.

People really like to use granite for countertops in their kitchens and bathrooms because it's so strong and lasts a really long time. But it's also used for all kinds of things like buildings, statues, and even tombstones!
