Grappa is a special drink made from grapes. It's like juice, but it's not as sweet and you're not supposed to drink a lot of it.
When people make wine, they take the juice out of the grapes and let it ferment (that means they let it sit for a while until it starts to change into alcohol). But when they make grappa, they take the skins, seeds, and stems of the grapes that are left over after they make the wine, and they use those to make the grappa.
They put the leftover grape parts in a special container and heat them up with steam. This makes the alcohol in the grape skins, seeds, and stems evaporate and turn into a gas. The gas then goes up through a tube and into another container where it cools down and turns back into a liquid. That liquid is the grappa!
Grappa can be clear or brown in color, depending on how long it was aged. It has a strong and bitter taste, like medicine, but some people really like it. It's usually served in a small glass after a meal, like a dessert.
