ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Green economics

Green economics is a way of thinking about money and how we use things in a way that is good for the earth. It's like when you only eat vegetables because you know they are good for your body. Green economics is like that, but for the whole planet.

When we talk about economics, we are talking about how people and businesses make and use money. Green economics means that people and businesses try to make money in a way that doesn't hurt the earth. It's like playing a game where you can only win if the earth stays healthy.

For example, instead of cutting down all the trees to make paper, people and businesses who use green economics would try to only cut down some of the trees, and then plant new trees to replace them. That way, we keep the trees and the animals who live there happy and healthy.

Green economics also means using things that are good for the earth. So, instead of using things like plastic that can hurt the earth, we would try to use things that are better for the environment, like reusable bags or glass containers.

In short, green economics is a way of making money and using things that don't hurt the earth. It's like taking care of the planet the way you take care of your own body!
