ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ground Wave Emergency Network

Have you ever asked your mommy or daddy to help you find something when you were playing hide and seek? Sometimes, you can't hear them even if they call out your name really loudly because they are too far away or there are lots of other noises around you. Well, imagine if you were lost in a big forest or some place where there aren't many people around. If you need help, you can't just shout and hope someone hears you.

That's why grown-ups created something called the ground wave emergency network. It's like a really special phone that can send a message to someone who is very far away. When you press the button, the special phone sends out waves through the ground that can travel a really long way. These waves are very strong, so even if there are trees or mountains in the way, the message can still get through.

The people who work for the ground wave emergency network are like superhero helpers. When they get the message from the special phone, they know that someone needs their help. They can then use special equipment to talk to the person who sent the message and they can find out where they are. This way, they can send help like firefighters, police officers, or doctors to the person who needs it.

So, if you ever get lost somewhere and you need help, remember to look for the special phone that can send out a message through the ground wave emergency network. Help will come to the rescue!
