Groundwater

Groundwater is like a secret lake hiding under the ground. When it rains or snows, the water soaks into the ground and fills up tiny spaces between rocks and dirt. This water becomes groundwater.

Just like how you can dig a hole in the sand at the beach, you can dig a hole in the ground and find this groundwater. Some people even drill deep holes to get to the groundwater below.

This groundwater is important because it can be used by people for things like drinking, cooking, washing, and farming. It's like having a special water source right under our feet!

But we have to be careful not to use too much groundwater because it can take a long time to refill. It's like eating all your Halloween candy in one day - it might taste good now, but you won't have any left later. So, we need to use groundwater wisely and not waste it.
