Gujiya

Gujiya is a sweet and yummy dessert from India that is popular during the holiday of Holi. It is a pastry that is usually shaped like a half-moon and filled with a mixture of grated coconut, sugar, and nuts like almonds and cashews. The pastry shell is made from flour mixed with ghee (clarified butter) and water, and is then fried until it is crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.

People make gujiya at home for their family and friends during Holi, which is a festival of colors that celebrates the arrival of spring. They eat gujiya as a treat to celebrate and share among loved ones. It is similar to a pie, but instead of being filled with fruit, it is filled with yummy nuts and coconut. It is one of the many delicious sweets found in India!
