HIFILES (CONFIG.SYS directive)

Hi there little one! "hifiles" is a word that you might hear when talking about computer stuff. It is actually something that can be found in a file called "config.sys" on older computers.

Now, "config.sys" is like a map that tells the computer what to do when it starts up. It gives instructions to the computer on how to set itself up and what programs to run.

So, "hifiles" is an instruction that tells the computer to use a special program to read files that are stored on a floppy disk. It's kind of like asking the computer to use a special pair of glasses to read a book.

Why is this important? Well, back in the olden days, floppy disks were the main way to store and transfer information. So, if someone wanted to use a special program or read a file that was stored on a floppy disk, they would need to use the "hifiles" command to tell the computer how to do it properly.

Nowadays, we don't really use "hifiles" or floppy disks anymore because we have USB drives and the internet to store and share information. But back in the day, it was a very important command to know!
