Hail Mary

Okay, so sometimes when a football team is losing and there's only a little bit of time left in the game, they might try something really crazy to try and win. That's called a Hail Mary! It's like throwing a really long and high pass towards the end of the field and hoping that someone from their team catches it and scores a touchdown. It's called a Hail Mary because it's kind of like saying a big long prayer and hoping that it gets answered. It's a really exciting moment in the game because anything can happen and it's usually the last chance for the team to try and win.
