ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Half-sibling

Okay kiddo, so remember how you have brothers and sisters? Sometimes, you might have a brother or sister who has different parents than you. Maybe your mom had a baby with a different dad. That baby would be your half-sibling.

"Half" means that you share only part of your DNA with that sibling. It's kinda like sharing a pizza - if you and your sibling each have half of the pizza, it means you only have some of the same toppings.

But even if you're only half-siblings, you can still have a really special relationship with each other. You can play together, share toys, and make memories just like any other siblings.
