Halloween is a holiday where people dress up in costumes and go door-to-door in their neighborhoods, saying "trick or treat!" to get candy. It's usually on October 31st, the last day of the month.
Halloween is fun because you can be whoever or whatever you want to be! Some people dress up as scary monsters, while others choose to dress up as their favorite superheroes or princesses.
People decorate their houses with spooky decorations like ghosts, witches, and jack-o'-lanterns (which are pumpkins with faces carved into them). Some people even create haunted houses or set up fake tombstones in their yards to create a creepy atmosphere.
But where did this holiday come from? Halloween actually began a long time ago, in ancient times when people believed that spirits of the dead came back to visit their old homes on the night of October 31st. People would leave out treats to appease these spirits and prevent them from causing trouble. Eventually, this tradition turned into the Halloween we know and love today!
