ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hanbok

Hanbok is a traditional Korean clothing that people used to wear a long time ago. It usually has a colorful top that is tucked into a big skirt which is usually really wide and has a lot of folds in it.

The top part is called a "jeogori" and the bottom part is called a "chima". The jeogori is like a jacket with really wide sleeves. It goes down to the waistline and is tied with a long thin ribbon called a "git" to keep it in place.

The chima is a long skirt that goes all the way down to your ankles. It usually has a big waistband that is tied with a bow at the back. The best part is that the skirt is really wide and makes you feel like you're wearing a princess dress.

People wear hanbok for special occasions like weddings, birthdays, or when there are really big family gatherings. It's like dressing up in really fancy clothes for a special party.

Nowadays, people still wear hanbok for special events, but it's also becoming popular to wear just for fun or as a fashion statement. Some people even mix and match different pieces to create their own unique style!
