Heading indicator

A heading indicator is a special tool that helps pilots know which direction they are flying in. Think of it like a compass, but instead of pointing north, it shows which way the plane is facing.

The heading indicator works by using a spinning instrument that's filled with special liquid. When the plane turns, the liquid moves the spinning instrument, which in turn shows the pilot which direction the plane is pointing. This way, the pilot can make sure they are staying on course and not flying in the wrong direction.

It's really important for pilots to have a clear idea of which direction they are flying in, because it helps them avoid obstacles and stay clear of other planes in the area. By using a heading indicator, they can make sure they are always going in the right direction, no matter how cloudy or foggy it may be outside.
