Heading indicator

A heading indicator is a special tool that helps pilots know which direction they are flying in. Think of it like a compass, but instead of pointing north, it shows which way the plane is facing.

The heading indicator works by using a spinning instrument that's filled with special liquid. When the plane turns, the liquid moves the spinning instrument, which in turn shows the pilot which direction the plane is pointing.
