Headstock (rolling stock)

Have you ever seen a train and wondered how it turns or where the driver sits? Well, the headstock is the part of the train where the driver sits and controls the train. Think of it as the "brain" of the train.

The headstock is usually located at the front of the train and is where the locomotive is attached. It has a big window so the driver can see where they are going and a bunch of controls and instruments to help them operate the train safely.

When the driver wants to move the train forward, they use the controls in the headstock to make the locomotive pull the rest of the train behind it. And when they want to stop, they use the brakes to slow down and eventually come to a stop.

So, the headstock is like the control room of a train. It's where the driver sits and controls the whole thing to keep it on track and get it to where it needs to go.
