Heat of vaporization

Heat of vaporization is the amount of heat that is needed to turn a liquid into a gas. For example, when you turn a pot of water on the stove, it has to heat up and collect enough energy to turn into a vapor or steam. The energy that it takes for this to happen is called the heat of vaporization.
