Helios (spacecraft)

Helios was a spacecraft sent to study the sun. It was launched in 1976 and was the first spacecraft to explore the sun from close up. Helios flew very close to the sun and could take pictures and readings about the sun. It showed us how much energy the sun gives off and how the sun's outer atmosphere moves around. It also helped scientists learn more about how the sun affects our world.
