Hemoximetry

Okay kiddo, so hemoximetry is when doctors check how much oxygen is in your blood. They do this by taking a small sample of your blood and putting it in a special machine called a hemoximeter.

The hemoximeter looks at how much oxygen is attached to something called hemoglobin which is a special protein in your red blood cells that carries oxygen.

If the hemoximeter shows that there isn't enough oxygen in your blood, the doctors might need to give you something called oxygen therapy to help you breathe better.

So basically, hemoximetry is a way for doctors to check if you're getting enough oxygen to help you stay healthy and happy!
